Classroom Code of Conduct:

Thank you for registering for our American Red Cross Health & Safety Course. In order to participate, we ask all learners to abide by the following Code of Conduct:

1. Respectful Behavior
  • Treat instructors, fellow students, and any guest speakers with respect, kindness, and patience.

  • Respect the personal space and boundaries of others, especially during hands-on practice sessions.

  • Avoid any form of discrimination, harassment, or inappropriate language. Everyone in the class deserves to feel welcome.

2. Punctuality and Preparedness
  • Arrive on time and be ready to learn. Late arrivals may disrupt the class and may result in missed critical material.

  • Bring required materials, including notebooks, pens, and any pre-assigned course content.

3. Participation
  • Actively engage in all activities and practice sessions.

  • Listen carefully during demonstrations and follow all instructions provided by the instructor.

4. Safety First
  • For our CPR classes, handle all training equipment and supplies, such as CPR manikins, with care and follow proper hygiene protocols (e.g., cleaning the equipment after use).

  • Notify the instructor immediately if you feel unwell, injured, or uncomfortable performing an activity.

5. Respect for Diversity
  • Recognize that classmates may come from diverse backgrounds with different levels of prior experience.

  • Be patient with yourself and others as everyone learns and progresses at their own pace.

6. Cell Phone and Device Usage
  • Refrain from using cell phones or other devices during instructional time unless required for learning purposes.

  • If you must take a call or respond to an urgent matter, step out of the room to minimize disruption.

7. Academic Integrity
  • Commit to learning the skills honestly and without shortcuts. Misrepresentation of your skills in assessments can have serious real-life consequences.

  • Support your classmates in their learning without giving or seeking unfair assistance during assessments.

8. Feedback and Questions
  • Ask questions whenever you need clarification—this is a learning space, and your curiosity is encouraged.

  • Provide constructive feedback when requested, and be open to receiving feedback as well.

9. Confidentiality
  • Keep any personal information shared by classmates in confidence. This includes any health concerns or sensitive topics discussed during class.

10. Commitment to Learning
  • Take the responsibility of training seriously, recognizing that the knowledge skills learned could benefit you in real-world situations.

  • Commit to staying focused and avoiding distractions during class time.

Consequences of Violation

Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in removal from the class and possible disqualification from certification. Refunds will not be issued if we ask you to leave.
